[FILLED] Post-doctoral position at the Center for Biomedical Informatics Research at Stanford University

We are recruiting postdoctoral scholars for research on learning practice-based evidence and enabling data-driven decision making in health care. The position is funded for 2 years.

The successful candidate will develop cutting edge informatics approaches to create network models for a variety of real-world care settings via mining clinical data warehouses. Your projects will uncover ‘natural experiments’ about clinical situations that would otherwise be difficult to study in a prospective setting. This exciting work will be guided by multidisciplinary collaborations with doctors at Stanford Hospital and ontology experts at the National Center for Biomedical Ontology.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and/or an MD with a strong background in informatics, computer science or statistics and a great publication record. Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and the ability to build new software tools as needed are required. Must have good communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English. Prior experience in mining biomedical or clinical databases, ontology-based analyses, text-mining, knowledge representation, or parallel computing platforms is desirable. A background in molecular biology or medicine will be a strong plus.

To apply, please send your CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references in one PDF document — Nigam Shah 2015/11/11 14:13
