Post-doctoral position at the Center for Biomedical Informatics Research at Stanford University

Dr. Nigam Shah's group at Stanford Medical School is seeking highly motivated investigator to develop and study ontology based approaches to annotate, index and analyze diverse information types available in biomedicine for data-driven decision making in medicine and health care. The position is funded for up to 3 years.

Ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. and/or an MD with a strong background in informatics or computer science and a great publication record. Strong problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and the ability to build new software tools as needed are required. Applicants must possess good communication skills and be fluent in both spoken and written English. A background in molecular biology or medicine will be a strong plus. Prior experience in mining biomedical or clinical databases, text-mining, knowledge representation, or parallel computing platforms is a plus. This exciting work will be guided by multidisciplinary collaborations with top scientists in medicine and computer science at Stanford.
