Our campus has several learning opportunities in Clinical Informatics and Data Science for interested physicians. Below are some of the training programs as well as seminar series that may be of interest.

Training programs

  1. Clinical Informatics Fellowship, is a American Board of Medical Specialties approved Clinical Informatics board-eligible subspecialty fellowship sponsored by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. This program focuses on the understanding, integration and application of information technology to meet clinical objectives.
  2. Biomedical Data Science Graduate Program, formerly known as the BMI graduate degree program for 30 years, is now an interdisciplinary graduate and postdoctoral training program, part of the Department of Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University’s School of Medicine.
  3. Master of Science in Clinical Informatics Management, MCiM is a novel one-year management program for working professionals seeking to harness the power of digital innovations to deliver high-quality, cost-effective health care

Each training program offers an extensive set of courses in its curriculum that an interested resident, fellow, or other physician at Stanford Medicine can benefit from.

Online sources

Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare specialization offers a collection of five online courses that discuss the current and future applications of AI in healthcare with the goal of learning to bring AI technologies into the clinic safely and ethically.

Machine Learning Projects in Healthcare is modeled after the popular BIOMEDIN215 Stanford graduate course and explores the unique data challenges of the healthcare industry and how machine learning can be applied to help solve them.

AI and Digital Health centers and programs

There are ~20 different programs, centers, and efforts around using technology ('AI', 'Digital') in healthcare writ large. Most of them have an associated seminar series that is open to all Stanford community members.
