Welcome to the placeholder page for the Stanford GUIDE-AI lab, which stands for Guidance for the Use, Implementation, Development, and Evaluation of AI. The work is done under the aegis of the RAISE-Health initiative to freely share progress made at Stanford Medicine with others.
We often get the question: How do you do it? We set up GUIDE-AI to share answers to this question, and its different forms such as:
How do you set up a data science team?
How do you set up a data science platform to support both traditional and genAI?
How do you set up and run governance? (e.g. Responsible AI Life Cycle - RAIL)
How do you source good problems to solve? (e.g. How we do explorations, involve students via
AI-CARE, create Target Product Profiles)
How do you decide if solutions are ethical and have value? (e.g. FURM assessment, including an ethics review and a monitoring plan)
How do you do items 4, 5 with GenAI? (e.g. creating tools such as
chatEHR, and efforts such as
MedHELM)
